I finally got some of my mulch put out on Friday, between the earthquakes and rain showers. One thing I do know– I’m getting old! I was so wore out just emptying 9 bags of mulch. I was thankful for the rain so I could stop moving my aching body. What happened to me? When did I get so old?
Here are some before and after pictures of my mulch project.
The tree in this picture has flowers that smell like honeysuckle- really strongly sweet- for about a week or so. After the flowers drop off (all over the dark mulch), the leaves turn a deep burgandy color. I believe it’s a cherry tree, but I don’t know what variety.

Close-up picture of the flowers. Wish I could post their smell here…
Isn’t spring great! I think it’s my favorite season. I love to watch the first green shoots sprout from the ground, develop buds and bloom. There’s so much promise in spring.
